Author Guidelines

ESci Journals Publishing provides rapid publication of research article. After 04-06 weeks rapid review process, an accepted paper will be placed under In Press and will be published in the next issue of the respective journal. A manuscript number will be provided within 48 hours of the submission. Authors can check the status of their article online using manuscript number.

 

Copyright

Submission of a manuscript infers that the work described has not been published before (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture, or thesis). It is also not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

All works published by ESci Journals Publishing is freely available to copy, distribute, transmit and adapt the work provided the original work and source is appropriately cited.

 

Plagiarism Checking

ESci Journals Publishing has devised specific plagiarism policies and rules to promote honest work in academics. Honest work in research means producing originality, citing properly and crediting the works of other(s) truly. Academic Honest Work is committed to establish a transparent and innovative academic research culture, and to maintain meaningful and authentic output and to upgrade level of quality internationally in research field.

As per plagiarism policy of Journal of South Asian Studies, the 15% plagiarism  is permissible in any submission to the journal. It follows a “double-plagiarism checking system” for all the submitted paper. Under this procedure, plagiarism will be checked at the time of submission and report will be sent in Initial review report*. Originality of work will be re-checked in the revised manuscript before publication as the author will make corrections suggested by reviewers and resubmit the revised manuscript. This policy broadly has taken to reinforce a healthy fashion of academic authenticity and integrity. It documents possible measures to combat plagiarism and guarantee compliance of research work(s) and studies published in different journals of ESci Journals Publishing, with international standards and transparency.  

 

*Initial Review Report will be sent to the corresponding author within 05-07 working days before initiating the review process.

 

Article Submission

In order to reduce delays, authors should assure that the level, length and format of a manuscript submission conform to ESci Journals requirements at the submission and each revision stage.

The target length of an article should be 6000-10,000 words, including reference list and endnotes (if the article is longer than this length, please contact to the editorial office).

Authors are encouraged to prepare manuscript by covering important parts including abstract, keywords, brief introduction, methodology, results and discussion, acknowledgement (if any).

Abbreviations should be written within brackets after spelling the acronym in full on first use, e.g., Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN). Subsequently, only ASEAN should be used without brackets.

United States-spelling should be used.

Authors should not identify themselves anywhere in the manuscript.

Submitted articles should have a summary/abstract, separate from the main text. This summary does not include references, numbers, abbreviations or measurements unless essential. The summary should provide an introduction to the field; a brief account of the background and principle of the work; a statement of the main conclusions; and 2-3 sentences that place the main findings into a general context.

The text may contain a few short subheadings of no more than 40 characters each. The headings and subheadings aren’t numbered. Main headings appear in upper case letters and should be set in bold. Subheadings appear in upper and lower case letters and should be set in bold. If a subsection must be further divided and should be set in bold along with using of colon.

 

Book Review

Authors are required to submit book review up to 1000/1200 words. Book review should be provided in soft copy, along with their brief introduction, in MS Word format to the Editor. Author may submit a book review along with details including author’s name, book title, publishing city and date, Publisher name, total pages and ISBN.  Books are available for review on the journal website.  Click here for details of Books For Review.

ESci Journals Publishing has layout editor(s) to check each submission for the layout as per the journal format.

 

Cover Letter

All submissions should be accompanied by cover letter of up to 350 words briefly stating the significance of the research, author’s agreement for publication, number of tables and figures, supporting manuscripts, and supplementary information. Author should make sure to include a cover letter with your complete contact information, including full name, complete Affiliation of each author (department, university name, city and country), current telephone and fax numbers, as well as corresponding postal and E-mail addresses of all authors to maintain communication.

Article Formatting Guidelines

Manuscript title: title should be limited to 25 words or less. The title shouldn’t contain abbreviations and it should be a brief phrase describing the contents of the manuscript.

 

Author Information

Full names and affiliation of all authors, including contact details of corresponding author (Telephone, Fax and E-mail address).

 

Abstract

Informative, complete and self-explanatory abstract should briefly present the topic and state the scope of the experiments, indicating significant data. It should point out major findings and conclusions. The abstract should summarize the manuscript content in less than 300-350 words. Standard nomenclature should be used and abbreviations should be avoided in abstracts. The preferable format should accommodate a description of the study background, methods, results and conclusion.

 

Keywords

Following the abstract, a list of 3-10 keywords and abbreviations should be included.

 

Introduction

 

The introduction of the paper should explain the nature of the problem by providing a vibrant study statement, previous work, purpose, and the contribution of the paper. The contents of each section may be provided to understand easily about the paper. The introduction should set the nature of the paper by providing a vibrant study statement. I should include the relevant literature on the study subject and the proposed approach or solution. The introduction should be general enough to attract a reader’s attention from a broad range of scientific disciplines.

 

Materials and Methods

This section should provide a complete overview of the study design. Comprehensive descriptions of materials or participants, comparisons, interventions and types of analysis should be mentioned. Previously published procedures should be cited and the new procedures should be described in detail. Important modifications of published procedures should be mentioned briefly. Capitalize trade names and include the manufacturer's name and address also if available.

 

Results and Discussion

This section should provide complete details of the experiment that are required to support the conclusion of the study. Results and Discussion may be combined or in a separate section. Speculation and detailed explanation of data should not be included in the Results but should be put into the Discussion section.

 

Conclusion

A conclusion section must be included and should indicate clearly the advantages, limitations, and possible applications of the paper. Although a conclusion may review the main points of the paper, do not replicate the abstract as the conclusion. A conclusion might elaborate on the significance of the work or suggest applications and extensions.

 

Acknowledgement

This section includes salutation of people, grant and fund details etc. An acknowledgement section may be presented after the conclusion, if desired.

 

References

Journal of South Asian Studies follows in-text citation style (Last name of author, publishing year) and endnotes for insertions. Only cited text references should include in the reference list and the references should be written in APA Manual style. This list must be alphabetically arranged, not numbered. The author should go to the primary source of information. The secondary source of information may be used in case of unavoidable circumstances or when the original article is in a language other than English. Only published work or accepted manuscripts should be included in the reference list. Abstracts, conference proceedings, or papers that have been submitted but not yet accepted should not be cited. Authors should provide online link for each reference.

 

Tables

Tables used in manuscripts should be designed properly. They should be typed single-spaced throughout, including headings and footnotes. Each table should be on a separate page, numbered consecutively and supplied with a heading and a legend. Tables should be self-explanatory. Details of the methods used in the experiments should be described in the legend instead of in the text. The same data should not be presented in both table and graph form or repeated in the text. MS Excel files should not be embedded as objects. If the submission is in PDF format, the author is requested to retain a copy in .doc format also to aid in completion of process successfully.

 

Figures

The preferred file formats for photographic images are .doc and JPEG. If you have created images with separate components on different layers, please send us the Adobe Photoshop files. All images must be at optimal resolutions. Image files must be cropped as close to the actual image as possible.

 

Numerals

Arabic numerals must be used to label the figures and upper case letters for their parts (Figure 1). Each legend must contain title and include sufficient description so that the figure is understandable without reading the text. Information given in legends should not be repeated in the text.

 

Equations

If equations cannot be encoded in MathML, submit them in TIFF or EPS format as discrete files. Each file should contain data for only one equation.

 

Additional Information

Discrete items of the Supplementary Information should be submitted in a new file and must be explained properly.

 

e-Prints

Electronic prints (PDF) will be sent as an e-mail attachment to the corresponding author for proofreading. Proofreading must be done by corresponding author before the submission is sent to the press for publication. They are considered to be the final version of the manuscript. With the exception of typographical or some clerical errors, no changes will be made in the manuscript afterwards. Authors will have free electronic access to the full text article. Authors can freely download the PDF file from which they can print unlimited copies of their articles.

 

ESci Journals Publication Fee

ESci Journals are self-supporting journals and do not receive any funding from any institution/government. The operation of the Journal is only financed by the handling fees received from authors and some academic / corporate sponsors and paid members. The handling fees are required to meet maintenance of ESci Journals. Being Open Access Journals, all articles are freely accessible over the internet. There are no submission charges however; authors of articles are required to pay a fair handling fee for processing their articles. Authors are required to make payment only after their manuscript has been accepted for publication.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Being Open Access Journal, all articles are freely accessible over the internet and available to download. The reprints should be ordered separately. There are no submission charges however; authors of articles are required to pay a fair publication fee for processing their articles. Authors are required to make payment only after their manuscript has been accepted for publication.
